And so it begins.

I say that like this is a big deal. This blog, fortunately, is not about me. Really, I've had a crappy day, and this is the time for something a little better than crappy. Of course, the first thing I think to do - like everyone else - is create a blog! Yay, that's productive! World hunger!? Screw you, I'm going to make a computer journal! That'll show those bastards in washington not to mess with the little man. Not to mention, permanently sway the opinions of everyone I know to my bidding, and prove to them once and for all that I am the coolest friend they have. Sound familiar? I knew it would. You don't have to tell anyone, but we all know for ourselves why we do these blogs.

Seriously, I just need a place to vent, a place to put my thoughts and dreams, and hopefully inspire my friends. OHHHHHH, that was another line of crap, if you caught that one, you're good - too good - go read somewhere else. No, come back.

Truthfully, I knew the only way to enjoy writing a blog, and for anyone to enjoy reading it, is to take myself out of it. There are more important things that need to be discussed.


So here's how it goes - I hate movie reviews because they tend to be very impractical. I want to know if I should spend 15 bucks on a movie, not the cultural significance of the lead actor's haircut. So I will talk about movies. Something has to be done - I am the rambo to the small indonesian villiage that is hollywood. Screw LA. We know what we like - so let's talk about it, and godwilling, make it ourselves.

Second, and equally important (which, when you read this, you'll see how important film really is to me), is our city. There is absolutely nothing united, civilized, diversified, or awesome(ified?) about this place. It is the birthplace of the civil rights movement - the first capitol of the confederacy, and a pretty awesome hole in the wall to squat for a few years if you're on the run from the law (don't ask). So what's the deal? I'm going to find some shit out and get back to you on that.

I'm not laying any obnoxious ground rules (like "feel free to comment, your opinions are welcome", or "I'll post here as often as I can, but my lack of motivation might just make this my last post for months") because we all know that's like saying "so leave your name and number and a brief message -- " WE KNOW WHAT TO DO, WHERES THE BEEP!?
